I wanted to find a way in which I could bind our 50 offices together in the pursuit of something worthwhile and meaningful. A challenge where every contribution registered and where the sense of accomplishment would make each individual proud of their own efforts, their teams efforts and the business as a whole. Working with Wooden Spoon was easy, we had a cause we could identify with and reach into local communities close to our teams and they provided the infrastructure to assist in getting the most out of the challenge. Each week a rather large rugby ball passed to me in the first instance by Jason Leonard was then passed from one office to another and it was their turn to use their imagination to raise money. The result was a cheque to Wooden Spoon for over £125,000 a year later which surpassed every target we set. For us we achieved a tremendous sense of satisfaction in every office and a wonderful and lasting spirit of teamwork throughout, pride in our local communities and the desire to do more.
