The Committee

The Wooden Spoon London committee is proud to announce that Oliver Richbell has been elected as its new Chairman.  Oliver has been active on the committee for over 2 years and brings to the role a great deal of enthusiasm for consolidating the fine work of his predecessors and expanding the presence of Spoon in the nation’s capital.

Oliver represents the new, younger wave of Spooners on the London committee whose presence was seen as a crucial element of past Chairman Nick Jones’ plans for the future.  Originally lured into a Spoon meeting under false pretences by his diehard Spoon boss, Oliver has long since become an essential cog in the committee machine, establishing the annual Petanque competition and making the Bedford Golf Day a reality.

In his new role Oliver is joined by Garth Hamilton and Sarah Griffiths who were also recently elected as secretary and treasurer respectively.  Garth and his wife Louise bring a touch of the antipodean to the group whilst Sarah’s wealth of knowledge about all things Spoon is a continued gold mine of goodness.  Together with the ever dependable and delightful Hilary Forester and newer members such as Helen Wakeman-Jones and Andy Mulhern, the new London committee is bursting at the seems with energy and inspiration.  Thankfully a few old hands like Nick and Richard Royall are always on hand to show the new kids a trick or two!
