Employees from the express delivery giant joined by Saracens players George Kruis and Deon Carstens who brought along the the Premiership Trophy were hosted by Gordon Brown, Chairman of the Middlesex Wooden Spoon Region, when they visited the outdoor gymnasium as part of Seeing Is Believing (SIB), a pioneering initiative being championed by the logistics company and the charity. The staff took time off from their working day to see, first hand, how the money they raise has helped fund the facilities.

Spoon donated £9,000 towards the new Wooden Spoon Outdoor Gymnasium which will encourage pupils to take part in an active and healthy lifestyle.
TNT Express Services is the largest single contributor to Wooden Spoon, having raised over £2.8million in the past 14 years. Wooden Spoon provides funding across the four home nations for a wide range of projects and community programmes to improve the quality and prospect of life for disadvantaged children and young people.
Head Teacher, Sashi Sivaloganathan, said, "The Outdoor Gym Equipment has meant so much to the pupils of Aylands already, even though it has only recently been installed. It provides exercise which helps the pupils' muscular and cardiovascular system. It provides a positive outlook to release any emotional stress that the pupils have.
"It provides a space and time for them to contemplate, reflect and gather their thoughts. Because some of the equipment can be used by more than one pupil at time, it promotes the values of teamwork, co-operation and empathy and promotes social skills. This in turn leads to bonding friendships and strengthening relationships which in itself provides our young people with support structures which they will need for the rest of their lives. Quite simply, the equipment nurtures, feeds and develops every aspect of the "whole" child and is much needed for the vulnerable pupils we serve."
More than 2,500 TNT employees have so far participated in SIB visits around the UK and had the pleasure of seeing how their efforts improve the lives of tens of thousands of disabled and disadvantaged youngsters. The ground breaking programme forges even stronger ties between TNT employees and the youngsters who benefit from the support of Wooden Spoon.

Janet Beale, Administration Office Manager of the TNT Enfield Depot said, "We were delighted to be able to join in the celebrations of Aylands School and the opening of their outside gym. This fantastic facility within our local community will directly benefit pupils at Aylands School, giving them the opportunity to improve their health and fitness levels and attitude towards a healthy lifestyle."
Chief Executive of Wooden Spoon Bill Hill said: "TNT is an outstanding partner to Spoon whose continued generosity over the years has greatly improved the lives of so many disadvantaged children. This is a unique opportunity for their staff to see for themselves just how significant and invaluable their support is."
Alistair Cochrane, Managing Director of TNT Express Services commented: "We believe in putting something positive back into the communities in which we operate and Wooden Spoon is an ideal partner. We both have a great commitment to helping youngsters realise their full potential and supporting Spoon helps us deliver a feel-good factor to our employees."
