Mt Everest reigns majestically over the most impressive mountain massif on the planet, with the Nepal Himalaya boasting ownership of eight of the world's fourteen 8000m summits and on Friday 30th September 10 Wooden Spoon explorers will set off on the challenge of a lifetime, to reach Everest Base Camp to raise money for Wooden Spoon.

On the 17th September, two intrepid Wooden Spoon challengers will be climbing Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. Completely self funded every penny they raise will go to Wooden Spoon, and you can support them!

This is a magnificent total raised by 27 teams for what has been an absolutely fantastic 22nd Wooden Spoon Four Peaks Challenge. In reality most of the hard work had been done before everyone gathered at the foot of Ben Nevis, not only had hundreds of feet of training been completed in the preceding months, but herculean fundraising and sponsorship efforts had been made by all of the challengers with each team pledging to raise a minimum of £4400 in order to guarantee their place.

4 Bath Mums are training for the 4 Peaks Challenge to raise money for Wooden Spoon. The 48 hour event takes place on 23rd June 2011 with the ascent of Ben Nevis, Helvellyn, Snowdon and Carantouhill in Ireland. A fundraising Quiz and Curry Night will take place on 26th May 2011 at Bath Rugby Clubhouse, hosted by David Trick, the ex Bath and England player.

While many of you enjoyed a barbeque in the garden or a walk in the park on sunny Sunday 17th April, Wooden Spoon supporters gathered in London to cheer on Spoon's 20 runners who all completed the 26 mile 385 yard course of the 31st London Marathon.
