We are well aware of the number of approaches that corporate bodies have from very worthwhile charities - and we are also aware of the increasing importance that corporates need to place on their CSR agenda, to meet the requirements of their clients, their target clients and their partners and stakeholders. At Wooden Spoon, we believe in building long-term relationships of lasting and meaningful benefit and working with our corporate partners to ensure that they receive real benefit from their charitable involvement.

One of the pleasures of our work is derived from learning about the subtleties of different sectors so that we can become true partners. We are far less interested in the traditional charitable model whereby you give and we receive. As an understanding develops so can the opportunities for mutual benefit. This may be in terms of staff morale and working together, corporate unity and team building, showcasing the company's social responsibility agenda or simply as a vehicle to deliver the company's philanthropic principles.

A number of our corporate supporters have followed the path of mixing their general support with a dedicated event in their name and adopting Spoon as their charity of choice for a period of time. We encourage involvement in our work from every level within a company. We are proud that support to our work comes from the factory floor to the Board Room. Some of our best ambassadors drive heavy goods vehicles for TNT; some of our best advice comes from world-renowned lawyers at Clifford Chance; some of our finest challengers come from the the world of finance. Our loyal supporters come from a wide range of industry sectors including insurance, finance, legal, oil, property, construction, and the highly competitive world of car manufacturing.

Your support can take many forms: you can simply join in the fun at our many existing events, encourage your staff to devise their own fundraising activities, sponsor aspects of our work, donate product, venues, auction and raffle prizes, share your expertise, think of us at your own events and raise some cash, or create, with us, a dedicated event or challenge carrying your name. Together we can make a difference to many thousands of young people and children in the UK and Ireland who are in urgent need of our help.
