Once again the Yorkshire Spoon lunch, generously sponsored by kcom, was a sell out and 505 Spooners and their guests enjoyed the seasonal fare and entertainment. The latter was supplied by Jason Leonard, Ian Irving and wonderfully held together by MC Roger Dakin who has become a firm favourite here in Yorkshire.

On 8th November 2011, HRH The Princess Royal paid a flying visit to the island of Guernsey where she met the local Wooden Spoon committee. Chairman Brian Queru had the honour of being able to show Her Royal Highness a couple of the projects that the charity has funded in the last couple of years. The highlight of the day for the committee was meeting and discussing one of Guernsey's main projects with Her Royal Highness, The Climbing Wall at Les Baubigny Schools. A demonstration by pupils of Le Murier School was held and Instructor, Neil Hunter, explained in detail to The Princess how the wall is used and the technicalities and benefits to all who use it.
