Our Annual Ball is possibly one of the most talked about and attended events of its kind, comfortably accommodating not only private but also corporate entertaining, with many companies using the night as their Christmas bash. This year promises to be c'est bon with a spectacular array of entertainment to ensure it is as stunning as ever. After all how could it not be with the theme of Le Moulin Rouge - Oh la la!

Four International Women's Rugby players visited Disability Challengers this week as part of their community time during the 2010 Women's Rugby World Cup which is currently being held at the Surrey Sports Park. The two Scottish and two Australian internationals had a tour of the playcentre in Guildford and joined in with some of the activities with the children.

Earlier in the year Dr Jenny Donald signed up for the "The Great Scottish Swim" in which upwards of 2000 swimmers would complete a mile course on Strathclyde Loch just outside Glasgow on the 21st August. During the build up to the day, Jenny raised money for Wooden Spoon (rugby's charity for disadvantaged children) through a variety of ways from sponsor forms through on-line donations to a raffle for a signed rugby ball by the Ulster squad.

The camp provides disadvantaged and disabled children from Shropshire and the West Midlands the opportunity to savour country life without television, computers etc., and to revert to outdoor activities and games.
Accommodation is proved in log cabins, and Spoon's project was to provide a concrete pathway to enable disabled and wheelchair users to have full use of the site and its facilities.
