Spooners Support Disadvantaged Kids in Welwyn Garden City
The provision of new fencing and gates for Lakeside School means safer play for all.

No ALT tag specifiedRugby World Cup winner Richard Hill (seen here with school children and the Herts regional chair, John Batters) kindly attended the official opening of the latest project of the Hertfordshire Region of Wooden Spoon at Lakeside School in Welwyn Garden City on 21st May.  Hertfordshire Region funded the provision of new gates and fencing for a secure play area at the school which caters for pupils with severe and complex learning difficulties.  

Head Teacher, Judith Chamberlain, (seen above at right with Richard Hill) emphasised the importance of having a safe area for the children to play and explained that by stepping in and funding the project for £7100, Spoon had enabled the school to release the funds set aside for these works for other essential projects at the school.
