Sponsors and representatives of Harlequins joined the London Borough of Richmond to see the first Centre being established in the Borough. I
t will serve 50 local schools where pupils from both junior and secondary schools who are experiencing learning difficulties can develop the necessary skills to achieve success in the future.
The Centre has already received feedback from the schools and the parents of those pupils who have attended.
In some cases the changes have been quite dramatic and the pupils are eager to attend and participate in the acitivities set for them in a whole new learning environment.
The centre, based in the Jason Leonard Suite in the Lexus Stand will eventually have a permanent home in the new Stand when completed.
Middlesex Wooden Spoon donated £25,000 towards the cost of ICT Equipment to furnish the Suite. This is one of several ongoing Playing for Success Centres that Spoon is funding across the country to disadvantaged."
