About the Chairman
The Yorkshire Committee was formed by Nick Brown in 1992 to help assist with the Lineham Farm Project. Mich Dearman took over the reins in 1995.
Richard Smith was seduced into joining Spoon and the Yorkshire Committee following the 1997 Christmas lunch! After a two year apprenticeship Richard was persuaded to take over the running of the Christmas Lunch. The only way out after four years in this role was to accept a 'job swap' with Mich Dearman - a proposition made by Mich on the ascent of Carantouhill during the 2003 Vauxhall Four Peaks Challenge.
Richard played rugby on and off over a 20 year period for various clubs and at school boy level before his left knee collapsed attempting a sidestep one early September - a second row should know better. Cleckheaton RUFC were the unlucky beneficiaries of Richard's skills during the twilight years of his career!
